Certification Exam Structure
The certification exam is open book and consists of:
1. Self-Paced Performance Exam – Case study exercise administered in a Veeva provided lab environment (CRM Administrator Certification only).
2. Self-Paced Knowledge Exam administered on the Veeva Training Services Portal.
Certification Exam Deadline and Attempts
The certification exam(s) must be completed within 30 days of the course completion date and without outside assistance.
Certification candidates are given two attempts to pass the performance exam (CRM only) and knowledge exam – two attempts for each exam. If the exam is not successfully completed after two attempts the required training courses must be retaken in order to regain eligibility for additional exam attempts.
Certification remains active for 15 months from the date of attainment and automatically expires unless it is renewed, prior to expiration, through our annual upgrade exam cycle held between August and November.
If a certification expires, the initial certification process – completion of required training courses and certification exam(s) – must be repeated in order to regain the certification.
Administrator Certification Maintenance
Certification Maintenance (Annual Upgrade Exams; August – November)
Three times a year (April, August, and December), Veeva releases product updates. Each release introduces new features and enhancements to existing features that impact Administrators of those products.
Between August and November, Veeva Training Services offers annual upgrade exams to validate that Certified Administrators are current in their product knowledge. Successful completion of the annual upgrade exam will allow Certified Administrators to keep their certifications active for another year.
The annual upgrade exams are open to current employees of Veeva Customers and Partners that hold an active (non-expired) Veeva Administrator Certification. There is no charge for the upgrade exam.
Annual Upgrade Exam Preparation
The upgrade exam is a self-paced, open book knowledge exam that can be taken anytime during the annual upgrade exam window (August – November).
To prepare for the exam, administrators should be familiar with the product release notes and relevant knowledge articles on the Veeva Support Portal.
Upgrade Exam Attempts
Two exam attempts are permitted for the upgrade exam. If the exam is not successfully completed after two attempts the certification credential will remain valid until the expiration date. Once a certification has expired the required training courses must be retaken in order to regain eligibility for the certification exam.
Upgrade Exam Access
During the first week of July a notification will be sent via email to all certified Veeva administrators detailing the annual upgrade exam dates and access instructions. If your email has changed since you obtained your certification or if you have any questions regarding the certification upgrade process, please contact Veeva Training Services.
