And he—not to mention the sales teams with which he regularly liaises, R&D staffers and the FDA—could access real-time clinical-trial updates at the same moment.
While cloud computing for healthcare organizations hasn’t achieved the simplicity or power of many consumer-facing applications, it’s getting closer, in part due to the rising expectations of app-happy marketing execs. “The same people that love to shop on Amazon go to work in this industry, and they are expecting the same ease of use,” says Paul Shawah, VP/CRM strategy for cloud-based software provider Veeva Systems.
