Breaking Down Industry Silos and Driving Efficiency with Veeva Vault Connections

The Veeva Vault Platform consists of multiple product suites across both the Veeva Development Cloud and Commercial Cloud. Each suite contains multiple unified applications with flexible configuration options to meet organizational needs. While business units mostly work within their own application suite, some processes in development and commercial settings require cross-team communication. From a technology standpoint, this means that a business process in one suite may trigger another process event in another suite. Historically, these processes would require complex integrations between systems, resulting in high costs, effort, and complexity.

Veeva Vault Connections solves this problem with functionality that facilitates cross-suite process triggers, helping to break down industry silos and drive efficiency. Vault Connections deliver value in these three primary areas:

  1. Connecting Vault product suites across the Veeva platform
  2. Harmonizing processes and data sharing across suites
  3. Making it easy to create and maintain cross-suite processes without requiring coding, supported by the Veeva product team

Vault Connections go beyond traditional integrations that only synchronize data. While Vault Connections can transfer data, they also can link processes between Vaults. In this way, a company can truly streamline its operations and processes, because any department that needs to know about an event in another department can be notified and take action right away. For example:

  1. Data synchronization with the ClinOps to CDMS connection: Study, country, site, and subject data can be transferred and synchronized across two Vaults right away, reducing need for CRAs to enter data in two systems.
  2. Process enablement with Quality to RIM connection: The connection triggers processes and events for end-to-end global change management in both the Quality and Regulatory Vaults.

Veeva currently supports five connections across various Vault product suites. Each of these connections can help organizations save time and reduce human errors. More connections are always being developed, so keep your eyes open for new connection announcements.

Any customer who has two Vaults with applicable processes or data sharing needs is eligible to use the productized connection. If you are a new customer, the applicable connection is part of the initial implementation. If you are an existing customer, the applicable connection can be added into your existing Vaults.

There is no better time than now to think about how your R&D processes can be streamlined with Vault Connections. Talk to your account manager or customer services representative to learn more.
