Study start-up is a high-stakes process. Delays can potentially cost sponsors between $600,000 and $8 million per day in lost revenue. As competition for trial sites increases, sponsors that can save sites time during the feasibility process can differentiate themselves and become a sponsor of choice.

Standardizing feasibility surveys

One of the biggest pain points for sites when responding to feasibility surveys is answering the same survey questions from sponsor to sponsor. Standard Questions in Veeva Study Startup

To ease these challenges, we’ve introduced Standard Questions in Veeva Study Startup. Veeva Standard Questions are industry-standard feasibility survey questions with common available answers. This feature introduces a question library with 50+ questions about site capabilities, recruitment processes, and experiences.

The impact for sponsors and sites:

  • Easy to use: Standard Questions are automatically turned on for sponsors and can be easily pulled into a feasibility survey template.
  • Improved site experience: Sites do not need to create a profile to use Veeva Standard Questions. Instead, sites complete surveys as they normally would, and their profiles are automatically created in the sponsor’s application. This removes a barrier to sites that are already bogged down by too many technology solutions and lengthy profile requests. Study Startup stores responses and populates information in future surveys sent to the same site, shortening the length of surveys and reducing the time to complete surveys.
  • Better use of feasibility data: Answers from sites are stored in a site profile within the Veeva registry. Site information is available for future use and can be re-used across applications or pulled into a report across all sites to action the data.
  • Ability to customize: Sponsors also have the flexibility to create customized Standard Questions specific to their organization for re-use against a site or principal investigator. Custom Standard Questions will only be reused in their application and not across sponsors.
