The Opportunity to Unify Clinical and Quality Fuels MD&D Buzz at Veeva R&D Summit

Leaders from medical device and diagnostics (MD&D) companies using Veeva Vault to streamline and accelerate product development and commercialization gathered at the Veeva R&D Summit.

Sysmex, Integra, and Intersect ENT were among the MD&D businesses that shared how they are unifying their processes and systems across clinical and quality to bring products to market faster.

Kim Duffy, manager, quality systems and Rachael Garcia, specialist, quality systems from Sysmex discussed how efficient document control is essential to positive outcomes. The audience learned how the application is flexible to both optimize routine business processes and support audit readiness.

They shared how Veeva Vault is saving time and resources on document retrieval, faster impact assessments, and how Vault’s open API and single sign-on (SSO) features have saved users an hour a week in resets and access. It was clear that they had only scratched the surface on the impact that Veeva Vault can make in eliminating re-work and introducing a higher level of visibility, consistency, and quality. See their presentation here.

In a separate session, David Templeton, manager, clinical systems for Intersect ENT, reviewed his strategy for implementing new clinical systems to an audience of clinical data and clinical operations managers. He discussed how he realized he had set unrealistic expectations around his early adopter program and how his flexibility allowed him to stay on course with the implementation. He also shared how his focus on driving efficiencies and faster EDC builds was critical to the implementation. See his presentation here.

Andrew Tummon from Integra was among the Veeva Heroes recognized at the event for pushing the industry forward. Andrew has been a trailblazer in improving trial performance with modern systems.

It was a great event and we look forward to continuing the discussion on what’s next for MD&D.
