Advance High-Impact Scientific Exchange with Innovations in Veeva Medical Suite
As the volume of scientific data grows and digital innovation takes new forms, medical affairs teams need to operate with speed and efficiency to keep up with changing industry dynamics. That’s why we’ve made it easier to connect core medical processes with an end-to-end solution designed to maximize medical impact.
Our latest medical innovations take scientific exchange to the next level. From new Microsoft integrations in Veeva CRM to FAQ and Standard Response automation in Vault MedInquiry, here’s a look at what’s new in Veeva Medical Suite.
1. Stakeholder Engagement
The latest CRM release cycle featured the largest set of capabilities ever delivered within a single year. With these innovations, field medical teams can now meet the needs of stakeholders in new and powerful ways.
Work dynamically between Microsoft and Veeva CRM
Veeva CRM Engage capabilities allow MSLs to be more present at the point of need – and now we’ve made that easier by connecting into Microsoft 365. An integration with Microsoft Outlook provides real-time calendar synchronization so schedules are easier to manage and always up to date.
MSLs can also schedule and launch Microsoft Teams meetings directly from Engage, including a convenient ‘Meet Now’ option. This offers field teams the flexibility to use their preferred virtual meeting tools while maintaining the ability to share content compliantly and track interactions directly from CRM.
Streamline MSL workflows from the desktop
MSLs, who need many of the productivity tools of a laptop to do their daily job, find value in the power of the desktop operating system. Several key components of the Veeva CRM app on Windows Desktop have been given a major uplift this year. We delivered a fully refreshed UI and new media library experience that brings a more native Windows look and feel and takes advantage of the platform’s most familiar controls.
What’s more, the new and improved High-Performance Call Report delivers a better, faster experience for capturing information from stakeholder interactions in real time. It now covers the most in-demand functionalities for medical teams, including the ability to create New Medical Inquiries and Key Medical Insights directly from the ‘More Actions’ menu. Medical discussions can now be required to submit a call report to ensure there’s a complete picture of past interactions across teams.
Maximize content usage in the field
Veeva CLM is all about empowering the content-centric processes of field medical and making the experience seamless regardless of device. Not only have we brought more feature parity across platforms, but we also expanded remote CLM capabilities to make it easier for MSLs to work with content in the field.
An exciting new addition is the Veeva CLM Presenter View. Much like the experience in Microsoft PowerPoint, when displaying content using presenter view, MSLs can view current and upcoming slides, navigate between slides in any sequence, reference speaker notes for more context, and even use the timer to set the pace while presenting.
Customer-facing teams using CRM may support different products or therapeutic areas, with territories that span different regions or countries. The new Content Alignment feature makes it easy for them to find relevant content and allows admins to efficiently assign and manage access to Approved Email and CLM content based on user type.
2. Deep Data on KOLs
Link Key People is growing faster than ever, with highly curated expert profiles delivering unrivaled accuracy, depth, and global reach. Two recent enhancements provide even deeper KOL insights for medical teams.
Expand medical congress intelligence
To help you maximize impact at medical congresses, we have expanded the depth of congress insights to include full agendas and personalized expert engagement suggestions. Other congress intelligence features include an interactive map of congress contributors, top represented associations, and a congress X (formerly known as Twitter) feed. With this level of data, medical teams can optimize their congress strategy, effectively prioritize resources, and make the most of engagement opportunities at upcoming events.
Gain valuable perspective through visualization
We’re not just focused on adding more data. We’re equipping Link with innovations that organize and help make sense of that data, ensuring the most relevant intel is quickly accessible and the right experts stay top of mind.
Interactive network maps visualize collaborations between experts as well as associations to provide a more complete picture of a KOL’s connections in their surrounding ecosystem. Within this view, you can find and filter experts in a geographic area based on the strength of their connections.
We’ve also created a new Interactions tab on Link profiles to support cross-functional engagement planning. This view provides visibility into all past and planned interactions from across your CRM organizations, neatly visualized so teams avoid potential overlaps that can impact the overall customer experience.
3. Medical Content and Inquiry Management
The shift to more personalized, precision medicine has increased scientific complexity and heightened demand for medical resources. New capabilities in Vault Medical help medical affairs teams create and deliver those resources with accuracy and speed.
Streamline scientific statement reference linking
Any medical content gets created must be substantiated with proper reference data, often contained within your library of scientific statements. Medical affairs teams can create, approve, and maintain a library of reusable scientific statements in Vault MedComms and automatically generate reference links to content that uses them.
The latest release introduced Enhanced Suggest Links, a new and improved matching functionality for link generation that supports multiple countries and products relevant to a given statement. Automating this process saves hours of time and manual effort, and above all keeps the science front and center.
Do more with modern Medical Portals
On the content distribution side, we launched a new Medical Portal user experience. The refresh features a simplified, modern interface that makes it easier to browse, filter, and share content. We’ve also added more flexibility for admins to customize portals according to a specific topic, audience, or even an event such as an upcoming congress.
Automate medical inquiry response generation
The next wave of automation has arrived in Vault MedInquiry. We laid the foundation early in the year with FAQs and Standard Responses. These features enable medical information teams to build a library of frequently asked questions along with their corresponding pre-defined standard responses, stored as object records in Vault.
Together, they form the basis for automating response generation with Suggested Responses, which automatically identifies FAQs from inbound medical information requests and suggests the corresponding standard response. All you need to do is review and hit send.
This level of automation provides a significant step change in efficiency for medical information teams, reducing clicks and accelerating response times while ensuring accuracy and consistency along the way.
